From April 1, 2026
Class III devices need a medical device licence based on a summary of the studies that show safety and effectiveness, the device's history in other countries, and a quality system certificate. The review target is 60 days to a first decision. Moderate-high risk devices, IVDs and software classified as Class III.
The official review target is 60 days (performance goal). Time the applicant takes to answer questions (clock stops) is not counted. Targets are not actual review times.
