Who we are
DataPorium is operated by Dataporium LLC. We bring market, economic and real estate data into one place: more than 38,000 stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, currency pairs and commodities, US economic indicators, and housing market data for every US state, metro, county, city and ZIP code. The same data is available on the website, through our REST API, and through an MCP server for AI assistants.

Where our data comes from
Our data comes from these kinds of sources, and we process and check it before it reaches the site:
- Official government statistics: the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury, the Energy Information Administration (EIA), and company filings published by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
- Public real estate listing data: homes listed for sale and for rent, pending and sold listings, and the housing market trends built from them.
- Market data for listed securities: prices, company profiles, financial statements, earnings and news, collected and organized by our own data pipelines and stored with the date it was retrieved.
How often the data updates
Our data is refreshed by scheduled jobs on our servers. The table below shows how often each dataset is updated. Official statistics only change when the agency publishes a new release, so those series are checked daily and updated on the agency's own release calendar.

How we check data quality
- ZIP codes keep their leading zeros. ZIP codes are stored as 5-digit text, so codes such as 02118 (Boston) or 07030 (Hoboken) are never shortened, and housing market searches that leave out the leading zero are matched automatically.
- Duplicates are removed. After each property tax update, records that are exact duplicates are removed.
- Thin data is flagged, not hidden. Many ZIP codes cross county lines. Each property tax record shows whether it belongs to the ZIP code's main county, and rates that rest on very few properties are flagged, so a small slice is not mistaken for the typical rate.
- Bad prices are caught. Extreme or invalid price values are capped before they are stored, failed downloads are retried, and out-of-date price files are downloaded again.
- New listings are added automatically. Companies that list on Nasdaq, the NYSE or NYSE American are added to daily price coverage from our IPO calendar.
- Screeners are rebuilt in one step. Screening tables are rebuilt nightly and swapped in at once, so no one sees a half-finished update. Market values are converted to US dollars so companies can be compared across countries.
- Every figure carries its date. Data points are stored with their as-of date, so you can always see how current a number is.
Article standards
- Every number is sourced. Each figure comes from a primary source, such as a government agency, a company filing or DataPorium data, and is cited in the text.
- Every article has an as-of date for its data and a list of sources at the end, and the source links are checked before publication.
- Data first, no investment advice. Articles explain what the data shows and how investors use it. They are not personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
