The product

What can happen
The bunk beds have gaps between parts of the upper bunk that could allow a child's body to pass through but not a child's head. This poses an entrapment or strangulation hazard to children and exceeds the space allowed by the federal bunk bed safety standard.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company.
