What is wrong
ADVANCED CARBON COMPOSITES (ACC) IS RECALLING ALL MODEL EXT-001, EXT-002, AND EXT-003 MOTORCYCLE HELMETS, SIZES S/M, M/L, AND L/XL. THESE HELMETS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE PENETRATION, IMPACT ATTENUATION, AND/OR LABELING REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 218, "MOTORCYCLE HELMETS."
What can happen
IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE HELMET WILL NOT ADEQUATELY PROTECT THE WEARER OF THE HELMET, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
