CERTAIN ARI CALIPER BOLTS WITH GOLD BOLT HEADS AND HEAD MARKINGS OF "10.9 & FMI" SOLD WITH BRAKE CALIPER REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT WHICH HAVE A BUILD CODE BETWEEN JUNE 7 AND JUNE 24, 2005. DUE TO AN EMBRITTLEMENT CONDITION, THESE BOLTS MAY BREAK WITHOUT WARNING AND THE CALIPER COULD BECOME UNANCHORED FROM THE MOUNTING BRACKET, POSSIBLY IMPAIRING THE BRAKING ABILITY OF THE VEHICLE.
What can happen
IF THE BOLT BREAKS AND THE CALIPER BECOMES UNANCHORED, A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
