What can happen
An overheated DOC can melt the shell, cover, and surrounding parts, increasing the risk of a fire.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Owners of vehicles that are equipped with these generator sets are advised not to operate these vehicles until root-cause investigation is complete. Dealers will install a safety circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 13, 2024. Owners may contact Carrier Corporation customer service at 1-800-668-6283.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
