CERTAIN TRAILERS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 223, "REAR IMPACT GUARDS." PROPER REAR IMPACT GUARDS WERE NOT INSTALLED ON THESE TRAILERS.
What can happen
IF STRUCK IN THE REAR BY A SMALLER VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE MAY UNDERRIDE THE TRAILER INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE SMALLER VEHICLE.
