What is wrong
CERTAIN TRAILERS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS." THESE TRAILERS WERE BUILT WITH INADEQUATELY SIZED AIR BRAKE RESERVOIRS.
What can happen
THIS DOES NOT MEET THE STANDARD.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
DEALERS WILL INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL AIR RESERVOIR CYLINDER AND ASSOCIATED HARDWARE. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING SEPTEMBER OR OCTOBER 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT EAST MANUFACTURING AT 1-330-325-9921.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
