What is wrong
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE FACTORY-INSTALLED WELDED GUSSET PLATE CONNECTING THE FRAME BACKBONE, NECK, AND DOWN TUBE IS MISSING.
What can happen
AS A RESULT, ADDITIONAL STRESS WOULD BE PLACED ON THE WELDS CAUSING RAPID WEAR AND POSSIBLE JOINT SEPARATION. FRAME SEPARATION OF THE NECK, DOWN TUBE, AND BACKBONE JOINTS COULD CAUSE THE DRIVER TO LOSE STEERING AND CONTROL OF THE BIKE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
ECC IS WORKING WITH RC COMPONENTS TO NOTIFY OWNERS AND THE MOTORCYCLES WILL BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS CAN CONTACT RC COMPONENTS AT 1-270-842-6000 OR ECC AT 1-845-778-2100.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
