What is wrong
Timberland Inc. DBA Glacier (Glacier) is recalling certain model year 2016 Glacier 17 RV Explorer recreational trailers, models A612, A614 and A165, manufactured February 1, 2016, to November 1, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the drop axle pivot pin retainer bolt may be too short for the locking nut to fully engage.
What can happen
If the bolt separates from the lock nut, the wheel assembly may detach from the chassis, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Glacier will notify owners, and representatives of the Ickler Company, the chassis manufacturer, will travel to the dealer's or customer's location to fix the issue, free of charge. A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
