What is wrong
Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems (Haldex) is recalling certain inversion valves. Please see the attached 573 Defect report for full list of part numbers. An internal piston in the inversion valve may fail, delaying the engagement of the parking brake. As such, these valves fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
What can happen
Delayed parking brake engagement can result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.

Recall repairs are free of charge.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
