What is wrong
Hale Products Inc. (Hale) is recalling certain retaining rings, part number 077-0750-21-0, that secure the pressure relief valve in the water pumps used for fire fighting. These rings may corrode over time after exposure to water, causing the ring to fail and the pressure relief valve to open, reducing the available water pressure.
What can happen
A reduction in water pressure may hinder fire fighting efforts, increasing the risk of injury.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
