What can happen
Improper air bag deployment can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Dealers will inspect and replace the CSA assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed September 28, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated by Quarter 4 of 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
