What is wrong
ST Engineering Hackney, Inc. (STE Hackney) is recalling certain 2011-2021 Kidron refrigerated truck bodies equipped with certain Carrier Transicold refrigeration units, including Supra models 950, 950MT, and 960. The centrifugal clutch may overheat under certain conditions, which can cause it to break apart.
What can happen
Hot components from the clutch assembly may fall onto nearby flammable materials, such as leaves or other debris, increasing the risk of a fire.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Dealers will inspect and replace the panels around the clutch as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed 21, 2023. Owners may contact STE Hackney customer service at 1-252-946-6521.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
