What is wrong
ST Engineering Hackney, Inc. (STE Hackney) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Kidron refrigerated trailers. The suspension pivot bolt may not have been properly tightened during the alignment process on certain Hendrickson suspensions with Quick-Align systems.
What can happen
Improperly tightened pivot bolts may fail, causing the suspension and the attached axle to separate from the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, tighten the suspension pivot bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 1, 2023. Owners may contact STE Hackney customer service at 1-252-946-6521.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
