What is wrong
CERTAIN LIFT-U WHEELCHAIR LIFTS EQUIPPED WITH A SOLID BAR BARRIER LINKAGE INSTALLED AS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON CERTAIN SPECIALTY VEHICLES AND ALSO SOLD AS AFTERMARKET RETROFIT EQUIPMENT. THE PART NUMBERS WHICH MAKE UP THE SOLID BAR LINKAGE ARE: 184-0042, 184-0041, 123-0288, AND 123-0287. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR A PERSON TO WEDGE THEIR FEET UNDER THE LINKAGE.
What can happen
IT IS POSSIBLE THAT A PERSON WITH NO SHOES, NO CONTROL OF THEIR FOOT COULD TWIST THEIR FOOT AND GET IT FORCED UNDER THE LINKAGE WHILE SETTING IN A WHEEL CHAIR WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CUT.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
