What is wrong
Lion Electric Company (Lion Electric) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Lion C and Lion 360 school buses equipped with wheelchair lifts. The shoulder belt and ground anchors intended to hold a wheelchair in place may detach in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 222, "School Bus Passenger Seating and Crash Protection."
What can happen
If the shoulder belt and ground anchors detach during a crash, their would be an increased risk of injury to the occupant.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
