What is wrong
Lippert is recalling certain 8K axles. Please see the 573 Safety Recall Report for a full list of affected part numbers. The axle hubs were incorrectly assembled with a grease seal rather than an oil seal, causing oil to leak.
What can happen
A loss of lubrication can cause bearing failure and wheel loss, increasing the risk of a crash.

Recall repairs are free of charge.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
