What is wrong
New Horizons RV Corporation (New Horizons) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Summit and Majestic recreational vehicles manufactured March 11, 2013, to January 30, 2015. In the affected vehicles, a rivet for the quad entry steps may shear and fail, causing the steps to give when being used.
What can happen
If the rivet shears under occupant load, the steps may give and the occupant may fall, increasing the risk of personal injury.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
New Horizons will notify owners, and dealers will remove the rivets and the step sections will be bolted together, free of charge. The recall began on July 7, 2015. Owners may contact New Horizons customer service at 1-800-238-3140.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
