What is wrong
REINKE IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2010-2013 INTERMODAL CHASSIS FRAMES. ON CERTAIN CHASSIS FRAMES, THE LOCKING RING THAT SECURES THE SPINDLE NUT IS MISSING FROM THE AXLE OR IS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED AND THE SPINDLE NUTS MAY NOT BE PROPERLY TORQUED WHICH CAN LEAD TO WHEEL SEPARATION.
What can happen
IF WHEEL SEPARATION OCCURS, THE DRIVER MAY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DETACHED DUAL WHEELS MAY ENTER THE ROADWAY, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The fix

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
