What is wrong
S&B Filters, Inc. (S&B Filters) is recalling certain Cold Air Intake Kits, part numbers 75-5085 and 75-5085D, sold for aftermarket installation on Ford Super Duty Powerstroke 6.7L diesel trucks. The battery tray, part number AL1298T-00, may not have the necessary hole to reattach the secondary battery ground wire if the truck is equipped with one.
What can happen
If the secondary battery grounding wire cannot be properly attached after installing the Cold Air Intake Kit, the fuse box may melt, increasing the risk of a fire.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
S&B Filters has notified owners and will replace the battery tray with a battery tray that can accommodate two ground wires, free of charge. The recall began on March 13, 2018. Owners may contact S&B Filters customer service at 1-909-947-0015, option 3.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
