SURE POWER P/N 52210 24V/12V 100 AMP SERIES 1 BATTERY EQUALIZERS MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 24, 2000, THROUGH APRIL 30, 2001, FOR USE ON CERTAIN DAIMLERCHRYSLER BUS SLF TRANSIT COACHES. THESE EQUALIZERS USED AN INDUCTOR WITH THE COILS PROTECTED BY INSULATION. OVER TIME, THE INDUCTOR INSULATION MAY DEGRADE CREATING A SHORT.
What can happen
THE SHORTED INDUCTOR MAY CAUSE THE BATTERY EQUALIZER TO SMOKE OR BURN, AND POSSIBLY RESULT IN A FIRE.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
