What is wrong
Thermo King Corporation (Thermo King) is recalling certain Precedent C-600, S-600, S-600M, and S-700 refrigeration units manufactured December 2012 through April 30, 2014, used to provide temperature control for cargo inside truck semi-trailers. The affected refrigeration units have plastic side panels used to access the unit for servicing. Due to wind or air turbulence, these panels may open and and break or detach from the refrigeration unit.
What can happen
If a panel, or pieces of it, detach from the unit, they may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
