What is wrong
Thermo King Corp. (Thermo King) is recalling certain Tripac-3 Auxiliary Power Units (APU) with part number 800908, manufactured between April 8, 2024, and May 15, 2024. The APU mounting kits contain mounting bolts that are too short and can loosen.
What can happen
Loose bolts may result in the APU detaching from the vehicle and becoming a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace the APU mounting bolts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 26, 2024. Owners may contact Thermo King customer service at 1-952-887-2200.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
