What is wrong
TIGER TRAILERS IS RECALLING ONE MODEL YEAR 2012 LOWBOY GOOSENECK TRAILER EQUIPPED WITH A DEXTER AXLE ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC (E/H) BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMP. THIS PUMP MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY HEAT TREATED. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE PREMATURE WEAR OF SOME CRITICAL COMPONENTS IN THIS PUMP WHICH CAN RENDER THE UNIT INOPERABLE.
What can happen
THE E/H BRAKE ACTUATOR PROVIDES BRAKING POWER TO THE TRAILER BRAKES. FAILURE OF THE ACTUATOR CAN RESULT IN THE LOSS OF BRAKING EFFORT BY THE TRAILER, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
TIGER TRAILERS WILL NOTIFY THE OWNER, AND A DEXTER AXLE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC (E/H) BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMP, FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TIGER TRAILERS, INC. AT 1-903-577-9511.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
