What is wrong
Timpte, Inc. (Timpte) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 bulk commodity hopper trailers manufactured October 9, 2013, to March 31, 2014, and equipped with certain SAF-Holland-brand CBX Trailer Suspension Air Ride Axle Systems. The affected trailer suspensions have pivot bolts that may fail.
What can happen
Failure of the pivot bolts may cause the suspension and attached axle to separate from the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Timpte will notify owners, and Timpte or SAF-Holland-approved repair shops will replace the defective pivot bolts with new pivot bolts, free of charge. The recall began on September 18, 2014. Owners may contact Timpte customer service at 1-402-367-3056 or SAF-Holland customer service at 1-888-396-6501.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
