What is wrong
ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES, THE LATERAL RADIUS ROD COULD PREMATURELY FAIL, ALLOWING THE REAR AXLE TO SHIFT LATERALLY WHILE THE WHEELS ARE TURNING OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED OVER SEVERE BUMPS OR POT HOLES. FAILURE COULD OCCUR DUE TO A PART NUMBER STAMP THAT WAS ADDED IN THE AREA OF THE BEND ON THE ROD.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE LATERAL RADIUS ROD WITHOUT CHARGE.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
