What is wrong
ON CERTAIN FIRE TRUCKS, THE VEHICLE CAB HYDRAULIC LIFT SYSTEM USED TO RAISE AND LOWER THE CAB FOR MAINTENANCE CAN FAIL.
What can happen
IF THE CAB IS LEFT IN A RAISED POSITION, IT MAY NOT MAINTAIN ITS TILTED UPRIGHT POSITION. ALSO IF THE EQUIPMENT SHIFTS INSIDE THE CAB WHILE THE CAB IS IN THE RAISED POSITION, IT COULD CAUSE AN IMPACT LOAD ON THE TILT CYLINDERS CAUSING THE CAB TO COME CRASHING DOWN, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
