What is wrong
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Alta travel trailers. The Federal Placard label may have the incorrect axle capacity listed, causing the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) to have been miscalculated. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
What can happen
Referencing the incorrect GVWR and CCC may allow the vehicle to be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Dealers will replace the label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-264-6664. Forest River's number for this recall is 501-1994.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
