What is wrong
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Sabre travel trailers and fifth wheels manufactured August 1, 2013, to June 30, 2014. The wires that control the brakes may have been improperly routed resulting in the wires chaffing, breaking or shorting.
What can happen
Damage to the wires that control the brakes may unexpectedly lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a short in the wires may increase the risk of a fire.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the trailers and reroute the brake wires, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on April 6, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-389-4600. Forest River's number for this recall is 430-03112015-0017.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
