What is wrong
Gillig, LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Low Floor Battery Electric vehicles equipped with Cummins Electric Drivetrain Systems. When a system shutdown occurs, the high voltage shutdown override switch may not function, with no warning to the driver.
What can happen
An unexpected vehicle shutdown without the ability to override it can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Dealers will inspect and update as necessary, the parameter settings for the protection override switch, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed November 12, 2021. Owners may contact Gillig's customer service at 1-800-735-1500 or 1-510-264-5073.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
