What is wrong
CERTAIN BUSES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE BUSES WERE BUILT WITHOUT THE REQUIRED REFLEX REFLECTORS ON THE REAR AND REAR SIDE AND, ON CERTAIN MODELS, THE SIDE INTERMEDIATE REFLECTORS ARE MISSING.
What can happen
MISSING REFLECTORS COULD LEAD TO REDUCED VISIBILITY OF THE BUS INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
GOSHEN WILL MAIL THE REQUIRED REFLECTORS ALONG WITH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO OWNERS. IF THE CUSTOMER IS UNCOMFORTABLE IN PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE, THEY MAY TAKE THE BUS TO ANY GOSHEN COACH DEALER TO HAVE THE REFLECTORS INSTALLED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 5, 2007. A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
