What is wrong
Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain 2026 Trail Boss and Ameri-Lite trailers. Wires in the taillight harness may be reversed, causing the turn signals to activate in the opposite direction as the driver intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
What can happen
Turn signals that fail to indicate the driver's intention to change direction increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Owners are advised not to tow their trailers until the repair has been completed. Dealers will rewire the turn signals, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 21, 2026. Owners may contact Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
