What is wrong
THE EXHAUST DOWNPIPES INSTALLED ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES MAY NOT PERMIT PROPER CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE DOWNPIPES AND THE STEERING COLUMN LOWER JOINTS. UPON MAKING A HARD FULL RIGHT TURN, THE EXHAUST DOWNPIPE AND STEERING COLUMN COULD COME INTO CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER. THIS COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE EXHAUST DOWNPIPE WITH ONE OF MODIFIED SHAPE, WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
