What is wrong
THE U SHAPED BOLTS THAT CONNECT THE SPRINGS AND SPRING SPACERS TO THE FRONT AXLE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED PROPERLY. THIS CONDITION COULD ALLOW THE AXLE TO SHIFT AND COULD DEGRADE THE STEERING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VEHICLE.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
THE DEALER WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE DAMAGED NUTS OR U BOLTS, OR TIGHTEN THE BOLTS AND NUTS TO SPECIFICATIONS. IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO INSERT ADDITIONAL SPACERS IN THE SPRINGS.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
