What is wrong
Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2021 and 2023 X3-45 Commuter buses. The bolt securing the passenger seat recline mechanism may loosen and disengage, resulting in an unsecured seat back.
What can happen
An unsecured seat back and integrated seat belt may not properly restrain an occupant in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Prevost will inspect, add Loctite adhesive, and adequately tighten the seat recline mechanism bolts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 22, 2023. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR23-310.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
