What is wrong
Strick Trailers, LLC (Strick) is recalling certain model year 2014 Van Trailers manufactured November 12, 2013, to December 9, 2013, and equipped with SAF-Holland-brand CBX Trailer Suspension Air Ride Axle Systems. The trailer suspension has pivot bolts that may fail at the point where the bolt head meets the body of the bolt.
What can happen
Failure of the pivot bolts may cause the suspension and attached axle to separate from the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Strick has notified the owners, and SAF-Holland has arranged for delivery of one repair kit per axle free of charge. A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
