What is wrong
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2024 LYRIQ vehicles. The bracket that anchors the left-rear and center-rear seat belts may have been improperly welded to the seat frame.
What can happen
An improperly welded seat belt bracket may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing their risk of injury during a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Owners are advised not to use the left-rear and center-rear seating positions until the recall repair is completed. Dealers will replace the rear seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 17, 2024. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N232425220.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
