What is wrong
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain model year 2015 CXU and GU trucks manufactured January 1, 2014, to August 20, 2014. The affected vehicles contain an incorrectly wired Automatic Shut-down Protection System, which may not operate as expected.
What can happen
If the Automatic Shut-down Protection System does not operate as expected, the operator may be unable to control the increase in the engines rpms, increasing the risk of engine failure and vehicle fire.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Mack will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the system for correct operation and repair if necessary, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2015. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-610-709-2131. Mack's number for this recall is SC0386.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
