What is wrong
Suzuki Motor USA, LLC (Suzuki) is recalling certain 2022-2024 GSX1300R (Hayabusa) motorcycles. The master cylinder internal rubber components may swell due to contamination from the brake fluid cap diaphragm, which can result in a blocked brake fluid port. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 122, "Motorcycle Brake Systems."
What can happen
A blocked brake fluid port can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
Dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder body and brake fluid cap diaphragm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024. A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
