On-time numbers cover scheduled domestic flights of the airlines that report them (the large US airlines and their regional partners), counted at the departure airport. A flight is on time when it arrives less than 15 minutes late; cancelled and diverted flights count as not on time. Official public data, updated monthly; new months come about 2 to 3 months after the month ends.
DataPorium ranks US airlines by on-time arrivals, delays and cancellations, and every airline flying in the US by passengers, seats and load factor, from official public data up to July 2026. Each airline has its own page with its monthly trend, its busiest airports and routes and the listed company that owns it.
On-time numbers cover scheduled domestic flights of the airlines that report them: the large US airlines and their regional partners. A flight counts as on time when it arrives less than 15 minutes after its scheduled time; cancelled and diverted flights count as not on time. Delay causes split the delay minutes of late flights into the airline's own causes, a late plane from an earlier flight, the air traffic system and airports, severe weather and security.
Passenger numbers count everyone on board each non-stop flight, on US domestic and international flights of US and foreign airlines, so a traveler who changes planes is counted on each flight. Load factor is the share of seats filled. The same numbers are in the DataPorium API (/airlines, /airlines/series, /airports and /air-routes).
Envoy Air had the highest on-time rate in July 2026: 79.8% of its scheduled domestic flights arrived less than 15 minutes late, ahead of Alaska Airlines (75.9%) and SkyWest Airlines (74.6%). All reporting airlines together: 69.4%.
JetBlue had the lowest on-time rate in July 2026 (55.7%), with 33.8% of its flights arriving 15 minutes or more late. JetBlue cancelled the largest share of flights (9.8%).
Southwest Airlines carried the most passengers in the last 12 months: 170.1 million, followed by American Airlines (168.2 million). A passenger on a connecting trip is counted on each flight.
102.2 million passengers flew on flights within, to and from the US in July 2026, 23.7 million of them on international flights; that is down 3.2% from July 2025. These are passenger boardings: someone who changes planes is counted on each flight.
In July 2026, 41.8% of the delay minutes of flights 15 minutes or more late came from late plane from an earlier flight, 31.7% from the airline (crew, upkeep, fueling) and 19.9% from air traffic and airports.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) had the most departing passengers in July 2026: 4.67 million, ahead of Chicago O'Hare International (4.04 million).
