What is wrong
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Freightliner Sprinter vehicles. The affected Sprinter vehicles from platform 907 (VS30) might have an open port on the fuel delivery module (fuel pump).
What can happen
An open port on the fuel pump module may result in fuel leaking onto the roadway, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Recall repairs are free of charge.
DVUSA will notify owners, and dealers will check for the additional nozzle on the fuel pump and install a closure onto the nozzle as needed, free of charge. The recall began September 18, 2020. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is VS3KRASTUF.

A recall means the maker found a safety problem and offers a free fix; it does not mean every unit has the problem. Units affected are as reported by the company. Popular models sell more and so have more recalls and complaints. Official public data; texts are shortened. A dealer can tell whether a single vehicle still needs the repair.
