Segments are our grouping: independent and reference labs include every lab of a listed lab company; physician office labs bill under the doctor. Tests reported by labs are yearly totals for labs that run more than simple tests. Medicare tests that hospitals bill for their own outpatients are paid under a different part of Medicare and are not included. Lab test codes are shown by number with their category, because the official code descriptions are licensed.
